A VOTE AGAINST LOVE IS A VOTE FOR HATE. 

I know that this is my business blog, but sometimes I think a personal message is appropriate.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

Anyone who votes to take away rights from others or to prevent others from having equal rights may as well vote to reinstate slavery and to take away women's rights. Many states in this country are trying to pass laws banning marriage between people of the same sex. 

I find this disgusting. Someone I love and care about recently said that they could always move to a state that allows it. That has to be one of the biggest insults I have ever heard. Is this the new underground railroad? Yes, being gay is not equal to slavery; but people should NOT have to move to be wed. I was also told that marriage is an institution created to support procreation. Then every sterile person alive should not be allowed to marry? Safer sex should only be allowed outside of marriage? When a woman gets her tubes tied or a hysterectomy should she get divorced? If a man gets a vasectomy he should get a divorce? Marriage certainly isn't an institution that supports family values. According to the CDC about 80% of the US adult population were married. The probability of seperation leading to divorce within the first year is 54% and within the first year is 95%. The probabilty of a divorce with a child being born before marriage is 41%. 75% of divorces lead to a second marriage and up to 39% of those end in divorce as well. There are more than 5 million unmarried couples living together. In 2004 30% of children live with only one parent. According to one website 4 out of 5 men regret wedding. How is this supporting family and family values?

Everyone should be allowed to marry. I told my loved one that God doesn't make mistakes. God makes men. God makes women. God makes men who love women. God makes women who love men. God makes men who love men. God makes women who love women. God makes men and women who love both men and women. God makes men who feel like women. God makes women who feel like men. God makes men and women who feel like both men and women. God makes men and women who feel like neither a man nor a woman. God doesn't make mistakes. We are ALL EQUAL in God's eyes. We should ALL be EQUAL in the law in every state in the UNITED States of America.

And blah blah blah about marriage being an acient tradition that predates all our current organized religions. If you use that to support homosexuals not being allowed to marry, then you're an idiot. In those same cultures and traditions there were often 3-5 different socially accepted gender roles and all were allowed to marry how they pleased. Some of these same traditions allowed for multiple spouses as well.

Please take to heart the following words from one of my favorite songs by Kathy Mar:

From desert, cliff and mountaintop we trace the wide design

The Truth has left its fingerprint on every living thing.
Remember when you have to choose between them in the strife -
Humans wrote the Bible, God wrote life.

And we who listen to the sky or walk the dusty grade
Or break the very atoms down to see how they are made
Or study cells or living things, seek Truth with open hand -
The profoundest act of worship is to try to understand.

Deep in flower and in flesh, in sky and soil and seed
The Truth has left its living word for anyone to read -
So turn and look where ere you think the Truth will be unfurled.
